A fiery altercation erupted in the final minutes of the Al-Hilal vs. Al-Nassr derby, culminating in the referee brandishing a red card toward the visitors’ bench.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night in Round 32 of the Saudi Roshn League. Al-Hilal were pushing for an equalizer in stoppage time when, in the 92nd minute, a heated confrontation broke out between French left-back Theo Hernandez and a member of Al-Nassr’s coaching staff.

The referee awarded a throw-in to Al-Hilal near Al-Nassr’s bench, sparking outrage from the coaching staff, led by Portuguese Jorge Jesus and his assistant, who protested the decision.

During the tense moments of protest, a sudden clash occurred on the pitch. Theo Hernandez got into a direct confrontation with an Al-Nassr staff member, who reacted emotionally. The situation escalated quickly when the staff member pushed the French player forcefully, prompting players from both sides to intervene and calm tensions before they spiraled out of control.

As the chaos subsided, the referee showed a red card amid protests from several quarters. Replays broadcast on the “Thamanya” network revealed that the sending-off was directed at an assistant coach on the bench, not a player on the field.
