On May 12, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Detroit Pistons 112-103 at home in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, tying the series at 2-2. After the game, Cavaliers guard James Harden spoke to the media about teammate Donovan Mitchell’s performance.
“This is team basketball. Mitchell has been doing a great job all playoffs, especially on offense. He can’t be perfect every quarter, every half, every game. That’s why we’re a team—someone needs to step up when he’s not at his best,” Harden said.
“We were down four at halftime. He wasn’t playing well offensively in the first half—though he still did some good things. But in the second half, he became much more aggressive. As a scorer, that’s normal; sometimes it happens. That’s why we have a team to help him in the second half. He did a great job on both ends of the floor.”
