Former Fenerbahçe Star Jhon Durán Sends Transfer Message to Galatasaray Board

Former Fenerbahçe striker Jhon Durán has reportedly expressed his desire to join Galatasaray. The Colombian forward, currently on loan at Russian club Zenit, is said to have communicated his willingness to move to the yellow-red club.

According to journalist Burhan Can Terzi, Durán’s name being linked to Galatasaray stems directly from the player’s initiative to signal his transfer interest. The Galatasaray management is reportedly evaluating the potential move. Durán is viewed as one of the most high-quality options to provide backup behind Victor Osimhen, though questions remain about whether he would adapt to the team’s tactical structure.

Recent comments from Galatasaray board member Abdullah Kavukcu also hinted at the situation. “There are players who wanted to come to us but ended up at other clubs, and now they send messages asking, ‘Can we come to Galatasaray?’ I won’t name names—those who understand will get it,” Kavukcu stated.

Durán joined Fenerbahçe on loan last summer, recording 5 goals and 3 assists in 51 appearances. He made a significant impact in derbies against Beşiktaş and Galatasaray, scoring decisive goals that earned crucial points for his team. During the winter break, the player sought a new club, and his agent reportedly proposed him to Galatasaray, but the offer was not accepted at the time.

Throughout his career, clubs have paid a total of €110 million in transfer fees for Durán. In Saudi Arabia, he earns an annual salary exceeding €20 million. Currently, his market value is €25 million, while Osimhen is valued at €75 million. Durán’s contract with Zenit runs until June 30, 2026.
