Ben Sulayem (64) has expressed sympathy for the former Red Bull team principal and is eager to see him back in the paddock.
In July 2025, Christian Horner (52) was dismissed from Red Bull after two decades leading the team, sending shockwaves through Formula 1. Now, nearly a year later, speculation is growing about the former driver’s return to a team.
That comeback to the pinnacle of motorsport would have the backing of FIA president Ben Sulayem, who told RacingNews365 that it’s impossible to “erase Christian Horner’s name from motorsport and Formula 1.”
The FIA chief also admitted missing the Briton around the paddock and insisted he would be welcomed with open arms. “We would welcome him again, and someone like him always finds his way (back),” Sulayem said.
Horner’s departure from F1 was marked by controversy due to his conduct at the energy drink-backed team, but Sulayem appears unfazed by that history.
