Albacete showed remarkable resilience in Andorra, but their football was far from impressive. The Manchegan side barely created any attacking threats on Friday, yet they withstood the home team’s pressure and found a late winner thanks to a second-line run from Jogo. This result mathematically confirmed their survival in the division.
Raúl Lizoain:
Confident in his early saves and kept his team organized against the tricolor onslaught. Another clean sheet for the Canarian goalkeeper, who stood like a wall throughout the match.
Fran Gámez:
Much like Jogo, his counterpart in Andorra’s attack barely allowed him to cross the halfway line to join the offense. On one of his few chances, he delivered the ball for Jogo to score the game’s only goal.
Javi Moreno:
The standout defender alongside Lluís López. Focused in his tackles and kept it simple when playing out from the back.
Lluís López:
Under constant pressure from Andorra’s relentless crosses from the flanks from the first minute. He led the defense in the absence of Jesús Vallejo and Pepe Sánchez. His performances continue to improve.
Carlos Neva:
Another complete display from Neva. He had some mistakes in possession, but provided excellent support for Jogo on the flank.
Jogo:
Had his hands full with Yeray in the first half, constantly being challenged and unable to push forward as usual. Became the match-winner by arriving from deep to secure all three points for his team. Continues his impressive season in white.
Martín Fernández:
Stood firm in midfield against the home side’s push. Not flashy, but effective.
San Bartolomé:
More focused on helping the center-backs than generating play. Became more involved in the second half, providing calmness when his team needed it most.
Ale Meléndez:
Should be the driving force behind Albacete’s attacking play, but was invisible for yet another match. Helped defensively but lacked precision when starting his team’s moves.
Álex Rubio:
Tasked with leading the counter-attacks. He posed a threat for Albacete during his time on the pitch, but it’s hard to do much with such limited offensive production. Replaced by Obeng in the 66th minute.
Jefté Betancor:
While Rubio made runs into space, the Canarian supplied him with passes from a deeper position. Missed a clear chance in the 30th minute, failing to head the ball into an empty net. Substituted for Lazo in the 66th after a lackluster performance.
Substitutes
Obeng:
Provided physicality and runs behind the defense in the final hour. He troubled Andorra’s defenders and, despite not scoring, his minutes were once again positive.
Lazo:
Good minutes from the attacker, he added composure when the team needed it and occupied the center-backs in the closing stages. Picked up a yellow card, ruling him out of the next match against Cultural.
Pacheco:
Came on to bring freshness and physicality in the final moments. Helped secure the positive result.
Aguado:
Didn’t have much time to make an impact, focused on defense and made no mistakes.
